J.C. Penney opens at Loop West

J.C. Penney Co. Inc. opened its newest Central Florida store Friday at the Loop West development in Kissimmee.

The new 103,000-square-foot store, which includes a 1,500-square-foot full service Sephora beauty boutique, is one of the first stores to open in Loop West, an expansion of the 440,000-square foot open-air shopping center, The Loop.

Both centers, located near the intersection of Osceola Parkway and John Young Parkway, were developed by Boston-based Wilder Cos.

The Loop West J.C. Penney store is among 22 across the nation that celebrated grand openings on the same day. The company's goal is to open 250 new stores through 2011.

The Kissimmee location is J.C. Penney's seventh store in Central Florida.
